How to Use Click2CreateTM

Creating records using MapAnything’s Click2CreateTM functionality is a straight forward process. It allows users to search for and create records for gas stations, banks, their current position, etc. Click2CreateTM can be used on a desktop or laptop as well as a tablet device.

This article will cover Click2CreateTM functionality from the perspective of a desktop/laptop user. Refer to the Click2CreateTM for mobile article here.

Point of Interest (POI)

1. Open MapAnything and search for a point of interest

2. Select a POI marker to create a record for

3. Click the Click2CreateTM button on the tooltip

4. Select the type of record to create

Note: If your organization uses record types you will see a second selection menu for the record type to use.

5. Fill out and review input fields and values then click Finish

Once the record is created you will see an orange marker over the location representing the new record. You can now add this record to a route, remove it from the map, or check in/out if on a mobile device.

Click on the name of the record to review the detail page. Here you will find that several pieces of information have been filled out depending on the configuration of Click2CreateTM. Some of the information you will see includes the name of the location, the address, latitude/longitude coordinates and the phone number.

My Position

1. Open MapAnything and locate the My Position marker

2. Select the My Position marker to view the tooltip

3. Click the button labeled Click2CreateTM

4. Select the type of record to create.

Note: If your organization uses record types you will see a second selection menu for the record type to use.

5. Fill out and review input fields and values then click Finish. 

Note: Lookup fields are not available to be used in mobile.

Once the record is created you will see an orange marker over the location representing the new record. You can now add this record to a route, remove it from the map, or check in/out if on a mobile device.
