MapAnything June 2016 Release Notes

Our June release introduces a powerful new Premium Data Layer and enhances some major advanced functionality of MapAnything.

New Features:

  • Performance Improvements
    • We’ve reduced plotting times by up to 80%, and increased the maximum number of markers plotted at once from 30,000 to 50,000.
    • Processing large routes has also been improved to provide better recommendations, particularly when waypoints are located in close proximity to each other.
  • Enhanced Data Layer Interactions
    • Data layers now behave very similarly to standard marker layers when users interact with them.
  • Dynamic Marker Enhancements
    • Independently assign color and/or shape based on the value of two distinct fields.
  • Cross Object Enhancements
    • Tooltips can now include information stored in fields on related objects tied through lookups.
  • Mobile Enhancements
    • Data layers can now be plotted in the tablet version of MapAnything from the Salesforce1 mobile app.
  • Cluster and Shape Popups
    • The popups that appear when a cluster or shape are clicked on the map interface are now aligned to display the same information, including the selected marker record list (previously unavailable for shapes). Additionally, both popups now include both the Sum and Average for numeric fields on the marker tooltips, not just Sum OR Average.

Major Bug Fixes:

  • Corporate Folder permissions – Several of our users have seen issues involving folder permissions, including controlling access to the corporate folder and the interaction between permissions and default folders. These bugs have been fixed to restore folder permission behavior back to expected.
  • “Plot All” feature for “Favorite” layers in the same folder
  • Sidebar icon bug – Favorite location icons were always being displayed as shapes in the personal folder. This has been corrected.
  • Saved folders right click behavior: In the new folder structure, the right-click action on a saved layer produced a misplaced drop down menu, which has been fixed.
  • Checking into events

Reminder: Enabling “New” Folder Structure

The new folder structure released in January is available for all clients, but has to be activated on a per-user basis.

To turn on the new folder interface, navigate to the “Permissions” tab within MapAnything’s Settings page.

In the user permissions grid, find the column titled “Use New Folders”. You can switch new folders on and off for each individual:
